Canadian/American Folk Duo THE STACKS to play concerts in rural Saskatchewan and Manitoba
Grammy and Juno-winning fiddle player Tania Elizabeth, whose maternal family is from Saskatchewan is joined by her guitar-playing husband on a tour of Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Blues & Gospel collide with Kitchen-Party Fiddle riffs and crystal clear vocals, creating an unforgettable night of world-class music.
Andy Stack, who spent the last decade touring the world playing and living in New York City as a professional guitar player and Tania Elizabeth, a founding member of Winnipeg-based band The Duhks and currently playing with The Avett Brothers, met at a prohibition-era bar in the middle of New York City. He asked her “Do you like the blues?”, she answered “of course!”. Six months later they were married.
Though they both have busy schedules playing all over the world, they welcomed this opportunity to play and travel together for two weeks as part of the HomeRoutes house concert series. Many of their friends, including Pharis and Jason Romero, Leonard Podolak and Jessee Havey, had taken part in this series and every one of them recommended it.
HomeRoutes provides a unique opportunity to reach towns and communities that musicians normally don’t get a chance to visit when on a major tour. On this tour they will visit Buena Vista SK, Annaheim SK, Greenwater Lake SK, Minitonas MB, The Pas MB, Thompson MB, Flin Flon MB, Melfort, SK, Napatak SK and Prince Albert SK.
